RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely completion within scope, schedule, and budget
  • Foster and maintain relationships with the team and clients
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, the team, and cross-departmentally
  • Build trust with management by completing tasks in a timely and budget-conscious manner
  • Delegate tasks effectively to the team
  • Support the engineering design team, ensuring availability of internal expertise and mentorship
  • Handle conflict resolution within project work
  • Responsible for completion of reports and technical documents
  • Participate in intake and development of RFPs and RFQs
  • Lead design team members in project review and perform project-related quality control
  • Willingness to learn key elements of civil engineering design relevant to our projects
  • Directly responsible for safe, efficient, and cost-effective designs for our clients

*This is a fully remote role. Occasional travel may be required for training purposes. Must obtain Wisconsin PE license within one year of hire.*


QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 2+ years design project management
  • Design project engineering experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with CAD/BIM software(s)
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering

Preferred

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in roadway design
  • Practical experience with Wisconsin DOT projects and municipal roadway design
  • Experience with project contracts, specifications, and PS&E (Plan, Specifications, and Estimates)
  • Ability to read, review, and perform QA/QC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control) on designs

Desired

  • Previous experience scoping projects
  • Ability to apply practical field experience to inform design decision-making
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Civil 3D software

Salary: Starting at $80,000 + commensurate with experience.

*This role is hourly. The mentioned figure represents the annual salary for 40 hours/week.

Required

  • ABET-accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • EIT certification or ability to obtain

  • Experience in sectors like transportation, stormwater, municipal, and the private sector
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D software

  • Knowledge in municipal workings

Desired

  • Familiarity with contractual plans and designs; related agency connections are a plus!

As a part of our growing civil engineering team, you will assist in the design and construction management of various transportation, land/site development, infrastructure, and facility improvement projects. Duties will include assisting in the development of reports, plans, details, and other engineering documents related to these projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other civil design software. This position offers tremendous growth opportunity.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University with emphasis in Civil Engineering
  • E.I.T. certificate or the ability to obtain the certificate within one year of hire date.

The candidate will have an interest in construction inspection of Bridges, Roadways, Utility Infrastructure, and the ability to assist with the design of Transportation and municipal infrastructure projects outside of the construction season. Batterman has a long and proud history of excellent construction management with WisDOT and local communities. We are looking for the right candidate who would like to learn from and continue that tradition. 

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Duties will include drafting, quantity verification, construction inspection and overall assistance to the project leader. This position offers tremendous growth opportunity and will require a basic knowledge of Drafting and Civil Technician duties. A successful candidate will need to have background in or a desire to learn about the following areas:

  • Site Plan Design and Plan preparation.
  • Municipal Infrastructure
  • Private Development
  • Construction inspection with the proper documentation
  • AutoCAD proficiency is desired, but we will train the right candidate.

This position will require collaboration with our team to maintain project timelines, budgets, and client expectations.

  • Valid driving license and driving record acceptable to our company insurance provider.
